You can scroll down this web page if you can to view the photo gallery and access the event presentation. okra eXpress hosted the Africa - EU 2008 Networking event on 27th February 2008, at The Foreign Press Association, Piccadilly, London, (The home of a former British Prime Minister, William Gladstone). The event brought together business professionals, diplomats, industry experts and investors. The event focused on business and trade links between Africa and the EU. Successful global leaders in charge of multi-million pound organisations with substantial investments in the African Region attended and gave their presentations at the event to address the question of why and how to invest across the African continent. Delegates had the luxury of listening to success stories from experienced experts. Industry experts including , Mr. Ade Adeola, Managing Director, Africa Business Development, Standard Chartered Bank, spoke on financing infrastructure in Africa - the role of the private sector and Ms. Varda Shine, Managing Director, De Beers Group, Diamond Trading Company, gave a presentation on why and how to do business in Africa. Other guest speakers, included Ms. Catherine Barber, Africa Economic Adviser, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, UK who address the Economic and political Implications for the relationship between Europe and Africa. Mr. Achim Holzenberger, Bilingual Economist, Economic Counsellor, German Embassy in London spoke about the German African Relations. Representatives from the African Embassies and High Commisions were in attendance. This event showcased invetsment opportunities in Rwanda and Mozambique.
